Building High Performing Boards Training

Cooper Foundation and Waco Foundation are hosting a free Board Governance training on August 24, 2018. This training is intended for new board members, current board members, or community members who are considering joining a nonprofit governance board and will include the following:

  • Legal duties and basic responsibilities of nonprofit board members
  • Questions to ask before you join a nonprofit board
  • How to build a competent board
  • How to be a great board member

Doors will open at 8:00 am for a light breakfast and networking. The program will begin a 8:30 am.

The training complements past board governance trainings (offered by Waco Foundation) with Chuck Loring.

*This training will be offered 2–3 times each year so that nonprofit boards can ensure that new board members are trained in leading practices in board governance. The training is a repeat of the board governance trainings held in January, April, and August 2017, and February and May 2018.*
