As with most scholarships available to students, there are specific eligibility requirements and application processes involved with MAC College Money Program.

MAC Grant Application Process

The 2018 MAC Grant applications are now under review, and grant recipients will be notified before the end of May 2018. Applications for the 2019 MAC Grant will be made available to McLennan County graduating high school seniors on October 1, 2018. MAC Scholarship Application Process

The application deadline is December 1st of the student’s sophomore year of college.

  • Complete and submit your renewal FAFSA.
  • By December 1st, submit your application along with a one page resume and letter outlining your future goals and present accomplishments. 
  • By June 1st, submit your acceptance letter if transferring and your transcript (unofficial) with at least a 3.0GPA and 60 credit hours
  • By June 1st of each year thereafter, submit a copy of your cumulative grades for the previous year (this must be done in order to renew your scholarship for the 4th year).

MAC Scholarships are awarded at a ceremony held each year in July. The funds will be sent directly to the student’s college each semester.

Eligibility Requirements

High School Senior Year Eligibility for the MAC Grant

Note: Students must apply to MAC College Money Program during their senior year of high school to be eligible for scholarship funds in their 3rd and 4th years of college.

  • Be a senior at a high school in McLennan County.
  • Be a resident of McLennan County.
  • Have a gross family income of less than $50,000 as reported on Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Students attending McLennan Community College or Texas State Technical College (Waco location only) may receive tuition assistance for all four years of college.
  • Individuals not attending McLennan Community College or Texas State Technical College (Waco location) are only eligible to receive scholarships for their final two years of college.

College Student Eligibility for the MAC Scholarship

To be eligible for a MAC Scholarship during their 3rd and 4th year of college, the student must have:

  • Been accepted into MAC College Money Program during their senior year of high school. Applications are not accepted after May 1st of your senior year.
  • Completed 60 credit hours at an institution of higher learning.
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

What are the Scholarship Amounts

  • MAC Grant awards vary and are based on need for tuition at MCC or TSTC. Students that choose to attend other colleges are not eligible their first two years but are eligible to apply for a MAC Scholarship.
  • After completing the first two years, eligible students that apply can receive $2,500 in tuition for each of the final two years at a college of their choice. MAC Scholarships are provided by Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Robinson, Passport to Success Foundation (Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Meyer), Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Duncan and Waco Foundation. Each year, Baylor University also provides full scholarships to the three transfer students with the highest GPA.
