MAC Grant Application Process

The 2019 MAC Grant application is now available online for McLennan County graduating seniors. Before you submit a MAC Grant application, you are required to complete your 2019-2020 FAFSA. The deadline for the MAC Grant is May 1 of your high school senior year. For more information about the MAC Grant, please contact the MAC Program at or 254.752.9457.

MAC Scholarship Application Process

The MAC Scholarship is only available to students who were accepted into the MAC Program as high school seniors through the MAC Grant. The MAC Scholarship is $5,000 for a student’s third and fourth year of college. It is divided into $1,250 per semester for a maximum of four semester or until the student receives his or her bachelor’s degree. Students are required to have a 3.0 GPA and 60 college credit hours by the end of their college sophomore year to apply.


Please submit this application by December 1 with the following attachments:

  • One page essay detailing your accomplishments and goals for the future (11 point font, Calibri font and 1 inch margins)
  • One page professional resume

Additional requirements throughout the application process include:

  • Interview: The MAC Program will contact you early December to set up a time in December or January during your winter break.
  • Transcript (unofficial) with at least a 3.0 GPA and 60 credit hours (Due June 1)
  • College ID Number for college or university you plan to attend
  • A photo of yourself that is appropriate in a professional setting
  • Attendance of the MAC Scholarship Awards Ceremony held in July

Each year, the MAC Program also awards full-tuition scholarships to three MAC Scholarship applicants that intend to transfer from McLennan Community College to Baylor University that have the highest GPAs.


The MAC Program will begin reviewing MAC Scholarship applications soon after December 1 and will contact students to set up a time for an interview during winter break before the beginning of the spring semester. Final decisions for the MAC Scholarship will be made after transcripts are submitted on June 1. All applicants who are either accepted or declined will be notified by mail or email soon after June 1. MAC Scholarships are awarded at a ceremony held each year in July. The funds will be sent directly to the student’s college each semester.

Eligibility Requirements

High School Senior Year Eligibility for the MAC Grant

Note: Students must apply to MAC College Money Program during their senior year of high school to be eligible for scholarship funds in their 3rd and 4th years of college.

  • Be a senior at a high school in McLennan County.
  • Be a resident of McLennan County.
  • Have a gross family income of less than $50,000 as reported on Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Students attending McLennan Community College or Texas State Technical College (Waco location only) may receive tuition assistance for all four years of college.
  • Individuals not attending McLennan Community College or Texas State Technical College (Waco location) are only eligible to receive scholarships for their final two years of college.

College Student Eligibility for the MAC Scholarship

To be eligible for a MAC Scholarship during their 3rd and 4th year of college, the student must have:

  • Been accepted into MAC College Money Program during their senior year of high school. Applications are not accepted after May 1st of your senior year.
  • Completed 60 credit hours at an institution of higher learning.
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

What are the Scholarship Amounts

  • MAC Grant awards vary and are based on need for tuition at MCC or TSTC. Students that choose to attend other colleges are not eligible their first two years but are eligible to apply for a MAC Scholarship.
  • After completing the first two years, eligible students that apply can receive $2,500 in tuition for each of the final two years at a college of their choice. MAC Scholarships are provided by Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Robinson, Passport to Success Foundation (Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Meyer), Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Duncan and Waco Foundation. Each year, Baylor University also provides full scholarships to the three transfer students with the highest GPA.
