We’ve been counting down the days til 2020, and now that it’s here, it’s time to make sure we get a full and accurate count of all Wacoans in the 2020 Census!
Waco Foundation recognizes how important an accurate Census count is in creating a brighter future for Waco, which is why the Communications Co-op has focused a significant portion of its resources on the “Why I Count, Waco” initiative.
The Communications Co-op was launched in 2017 in partnership with several key Waco organizations that have a stake in how Waco is perceived locally and nationally, in an effort to advance community-wide communications and promote a unified Waco. Co-op partners contribute time, support and funding to a central communications entity that manages collaborative communications efforts.
Because the results of each census directly impact the federal resources and Congressional representation Waco receives, the City of Waco and other community partners are working with the Co-op to develop and promote the “Why I Count, Waco” initiative, which encourages full participation of all Wacoans in the 2020 Census.
As part of this initiative, the Communications Co-op has assisted with the campaign by developing and providing the following:
- Logo Design
- Web Design & Development
- Ambassador Relations: toolkit, one-on-one meetings, weekly emails with Census resources, assistance hosting Census events
- Social Media
- Media Relations & Advertising: press releases, opinion editorials, Waco Transit ads, public service announcements
